Cheeses of the world, unite!

Looking for a good Internet specialty cheese shop? I don't have any personal experience with these folks, but the site looks really good, and their bricks-and-mortar establishments in New York City are classic.

Check out Artisinal Cheese's web site to at least make yourself hungry — and, if you're willing to shell out the ducats, both poor and very happy.

(Of course, I have to give a shout out to my favorite Chicago artisinal cheese sources: Fox & Obel and Pastoral. Of course, if you're in New York City, you can't go wrong; in my old neighborhood, I always favored Fairway and Citarella.)

Happy cheesing!

We're fans of CheeseSupply.com,
especially their samplers. Plus they have an impressive selection British cheese; Red Dragon is among our favorites.

Greg, thanks for that tip. CheeseSupply.com seems to have a good selection of "basic" and "advanced" cheeses but some of the artisinal choices seem to be missing. (For instance, their English cheeses seem to be primarily from Ford Farms — a quality manufacturer, but I'd like the option of Neal's Yard Dairy for some of my Stiltons and such; at Fancy Foods 2006 I got to sample some really subtle things that they've been doing and it's so worth it.) However, it definitely seems more affordable and approachable to a wider audience.

Also, thanks for being my first commenter!
